MINUTES

May 10, 2006

Randy Duckett opened the meeting welcoming Sarah Keeling as joining us as a guest.

Programmatic Updates

Stephanie Foote informed us that to date there are 17 students signed up to participate in the First Pace Program and 4 have already signed up for housing.  This is really a good number and the deadline for housing is June 1^st.

Stephanie Foote also shared that she is in the process of planning academic success workshops.

Action Team Reports

Students At Risk Action Team – Ms. Stephanie Foote

• Stephanie Foote presented the Early Warning Process working document and pointed out where we are right now with the process.  The EPT members are to review the process and provide feedback to the working team. This process should produce a much better level of communication and to provide a better opportunity for student success.

Campus Housing Action Team (CHAT) – Mr. Randy Duckett

• Randy Duckett shared about the creation of a new Action Team called Campus Housing Action Team (CHAT).  The members will be Dr. Deb Kladivko, Chair, Mr. Tony Ateca, Mr. Andrew Hendrix, Mrs. Ginger Hudock, Mr. Deri Wills, Mr. Randy Duckett (Ex officio), Dr. Braden Hosch (Ex officio).  The charge and other details for this action team can be found on the EPT web site.

Year End Reports – Dr. Braden Hosch

Dr. Braden Hosch handed out the 2005-06 End-of-Year Reports Guidelines that explain directions for completing the reports.  The template will be sent electronically to the committee chairs and are due to Mr. Randy Duckett and Dr. Braden Hosch by July 1, 2006.  The process will be the same as last year with a meeting with each chair to determine the charge for next year.

Refining EPT – Mr. Randy Duckett

• In order to have a more formal process for the EPT meetings have already been scheduled for the 2^nd Wednesday of the month.  It has already been discovered that a few members have a conflict with this time, but hopefully, they will be able to serve on one of the Action Teams.
• We will be looking at the Strategic Planning Team to assist in setting priorities that will be addressed by each Action Team.
• Each Action Team will be assigned a specific month to make a “major” presentation and make recommendations to EPT. These presentations should be no more than 30 minutes.
• The EPT process is being evaluated and the self study reports will be included in the process.
• EPT meetings will continue through the summer.

Resources/Learning Opportunities

Stephanie Foote informed us that she will be receiving DVD’s from the tele-conferences from this past year and she would advise us when they are here for our use.

Announcements

Randy Duckett informed us that Dr. Susan Campbell will be on campus June 29-30, 2006 as a consultant for Advisement Services and will provide times that EPT members will be able to meet with her.

At the adjournment of the meeting Randy Duckett thanked Ms. Jennie Volforte for her service not only with EPT but also the University.
