Randy Duckett opened the meeting at 2:04 pm with a welcome to everyone and asked Dr. Deb Kladivko to introduce Mr. Deri Wills the new Director of Housing and Judicial Affairs. Dr. Kladivko expressed that we were thrilled to have Mr. Wills and he comes to the University with over 16 years experience. Everyone proceeded to introduce themselves to Mr. Wills.
As part of the “End of the Year” evaluation process, Randy and Dr. Hosch have been examining the composition of the EPT and feel that there should be a larger presence of faculty members. (While being sensitive to the campus work load issue, it is extremely important to have appropriate and “interested” individuals serving on EPT). They are also evaluating the composition of all of the Action Teams and asked that all of the Action Team chairs remain after the EPT meeting for a brief meeting with them.

CHAT – Campus Housing Action Team
The EPT has also formed a new Action Team – CHAT – Campus Housing Action Team, chaired by Dr. Deb Kladivko. Other members include: Ms. Ginger Hudock, Mr. Tony Ateca, Mr. Andrew Hendrix, and Mr. Deri Wills. Randy Duckett and Braden Hosch will serve as ex-officio members of this action team. He also stated that we needed to have a/or several faculty members to serve on this new Action Team. (As part of the Year End report to the campus, a call will be made for any staff or faculty who may be interested in serving on an Action Team.)

Perspectives
Ø Glenn Shumpert expressed that it has really caused problems in Financial Aid when classes do not make.
Ø Dr. Ed Callen stated that the issue had been discussed at Academic Council and he believed this was a concern that needed to be addressed by other groups in addition to the academic side, such as admissions, marketing, housing, etc. He felt that it was a larger campus issue than just what the Academic Council deals with.
Ø Randy suggested that there were certainly some academic issues which had to be addressed; (degree completion, popular courses, courses being avoided at USCA), but agreed that it was a broader issue than just Academic Council and a larger discussion needed to take place. This is another issue that EPT may address if it surfaces (during our year end report process) as a priority for our work next year. It may involve creating a Summer School Action Team.
Action Team Meetings
The next EPT meeting is scheduled for July 10, 2006 and all Action Team Chairs are asked to be present.
