Objectives:
To practice movements for coverage to insure players are moving to the right places.
Players start in a free ball receptions position.
Tosses, chips or down balls a ball over the net.
Players pass ball to the setter.
Setter sets one of the hitters.
Hitter approaches and jumps.
Coverage players move in behind hitter.
Hitter tips the ball back to the coverage players on their side of the net.
Coverage players attempt to pass ball to the setting positions.
Hitters transition to their ready positions.
Setter sets one of the three hitters.
Hitter approaches and tips ball back to coverage players.
Coverage players move in behind hitter.
Repeat for a set number of contacts without ball touching the floor.
Variations:
Count tips back to coverage players instead of contacts.
Have blockers on other side of net working on closing the block and footwork.
