Tutoring Services
The Academic Success Center encourages USCA students to take advantage of the free tutoring program we have on campus. You can request a tutor online, by simply filling out the information on our Request a Tutor Page. We commonly have tutors in the following subjects, but please note this may change by semester.
Math Lab, Penland Building, Room 221
The mission of the Math Lab is to provide support for students enrolled in mathematics courses at USCA, and ultimately to enable students to be successful in the classes that use mathematics. This is accomplished by providing students with free peer tutoring in any freshman level and selected sophomore level mathematics classes, offering assistance with calculator skills and computer software used with the math classes, etc.

Writing Room, H&SS 112
The mission of the Writing Room is to provide an open teaching and learning environment for the collaborative discussion of writing so that students may become more aware and independent writers. Writing consultants come from a range of disciplines and are formally trained to provide feedback during all phases of the writing process. The Writing Room can help you with writing in all disciplines.

Individual Subject Tutoring
During Fall & Spring semesters, tutoring is available on an individual basis to students experiencing difficulty in a specific subject area. Students may personally request assistance by using the Request a Tutor page on the web, and the Academic Success Center will try to match you with a tutor for your specific subject area. Please note that this may take up to two weeks if we do not have a tutor in place for the requested subject. This service is free of charge to enrolled USCA students. This is the first step in requesting a tutor and must be completed before you begin working with the subject tutor. Please remember if you need Math or Writing help you should visit the Math Lab or Writing Room during the walk-in hours.

for help. The Writing Room is located in H&SS, Room 112 and the operating hours are posted at the Writing Room page. The Writing Room can help you with writing in all
disciplines.
