Southern Stingray (Dasyatis americana): Family Dasyatidae. Snout and tips of pectoral fins pointed. Single row of small spines or bumps on back and tail, but one or 2 venomous spines at base of tail.

Roughtail Stingray (Dasyatis centroura): Family Dasyatidae. Snout and tips of pectoral fins pointed.Row of spines or bumps on back and many rows of spines on tail. One or 2 venomous spines at base of tail.

Yellow Stingray (Urolophus jamaicensis): Family Urolophidae. Snout and tips of pectoral fins rounded. Numerous spots and blotches. Venomous spine on tail.

Spotted Eagle Ray (Aetobatus narinari): Family Myliobatidae. Dorsum covered with white spots. Distinct head with tapering snout. Long thin tail with up to 5 venomous spines.
