the river rushes-
icy, angry, over miles of land-
to the ocean shore
that embraces it as
a mother would her child,
there salt mixes with fresh,
the ocean conquering
the land worn river.
death and birth
are witnessed by those who have eyes to see.
but here, the river flows on
reminding me-
i am the river
death is the sea
and i am forever running in his direction
