You
Are the Weakest Link
Anna Rosbach Take one moment out of your silly life and tell me what you think. I can tell you what you think. You want to say it makes no sense, and you lie to impress my nature. Scoffs come naturally these days and I want none of it, thank you and goodnight. You have no convenience here in the “real” world. I could tie my shoes and count to ten backwards, but I couldn’t make it to President. If you would just shut up and listen, you could see the predicament in front of your eyeball. They cry and howl all day long for your attention, and you hide it with shifty eyes and busy hands. When the numbers came back and you had the lowest score, did you think to ask for help? I spent forever molding my priorities to match yours. But you keep changing! How is one supposed to keep up with all of this non-sense you call “reality”? I will step back into my shell where I understand what I make. If you followed, it’d amaze me. I am never out of reach for anyone, and yet you’ve convinced yourself I’m light-years away. Why not ask yourself sometime if I’m worth the trouble. I could be if you’d let me. Yet, my troubles lie in the simple fact that your mouth never stays shut! I live in my fantasies because you’re too busy building the world. |
