slow motion
Anna Rosbach
Out of the darkness,
he suddenly appeared.

When I saw his face,
my heart filled with fear.

He took hold of my soul,
one finger at a time.

Then he silently committed,
the greatest of all crimes.

Life flowed from my body,
while helplessly I cried.

I couldn’t take control,
no matter how I tried.

Angles hovered o’er my head,
while I lay lifeless on the bed.

He came as a thief,
as he had in the past.

I wasn’t his first,
and I won’t be his last.
