    • The employment opportunity involves on-campus solicitation or on-campus sales.
The student is required to purchase or rent any type of sales kit or presentation supplies.

GUIDELINES FOR JOB/CAREER FAIRS

So that all employers can receive the maximum exposure to students during job/career fairs on USCA's campus, employers are asked to adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Register in advance for participation in campus career/job fairs.
  • Registration fees are due no later than the day of the event.
Electricity is available on a first-come, first-accomodated basis. This will be determined by the date the employer registration is received.
  • Employers are welcome to bring literature or other handouts.
  • If you plan to recruit potential job candidates or provide on-campus interviews at this time, please provide a job description/s of position/s being recruited in advance.
  • Provide on-line or hard copy resource information about the employing organization in advance.

GUIDELINES FOR ON-CAMPUS RECRUITING OUTSIDE OF CAREER FAIR EVENTS

The Office of Career Services seeks to provide employers with appropriate and timely services that are beneficial to both recruiters and students. For many colleges and universities, on-campus recruitment offers an invaluable and convenient opportunity for employers to make contact with potential job candidates. Though USCA's Career Service Office understands the value of this service, due to the size of our student population, we find that it is more beneficial for employers to limit on-campus recruitment to specific career fair events. In this regard, the Office seeks to ensure that students are appropriately prepared for the employer's recruiting visit.

Employers who would like to set up and staff an information table on campus that is not related to a career fair event may contact the Student Life & Services Office to make arrangements at 803/641-3412.

GUIDELINES FOR EXPERIENTIAL EDUCATION

The Office of Career Services may post full-time positions that do not require a college degree if they provide experiential opportunities that assist students to develop skills necessary for their chosen profession, are within commuting distance from Ada, or are available during seasonal breaks in the academic year.

Additionally, experiential education opportunities may be posted for any undergraduate college student. Experiential opportunities include internships, co-operative educational experience and/or graduate assistantships. Opportunities may be either non-paid or compensated with a stipend, rather than an hourly wage.

GENERAL SERVICE GUIDELINES

The Office of Career Services professional staff reserves the right to investigate complaints by students, other employers, or other off-campus entities, about employers or jobs posted through the Office of Career Services. If the Office determines that a complaint is justified, the Office may choose to deny employer services to the employer involved. The Office of Career Services will notify the employer in writing should a situation result in this type of a decision.

USCA is a non-discriminatory organization and employers must comply with non-discrimination practices. Positions posted with the office must comply with all federal and state affirmative action and equal employment regulations. Any organization, which does not endorse this policy, will be denied use of the Office of Career Services facilities and services.

The Office of Career Services adheres to the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Principles for Professional Conduct For Career Services & Employment Professionals.

Disclaimer: To advertise a position with the USCA Office of Career Services or to participate in one of the USCA Career Fairs, employers and their organizations must comply with all equal employment opportunity (EEO) standards. All job postings must contain accurate information about specific positions offered, as well as the organization offering employment. We will not post any job or position that requires a financial investment on the part of our students.

Any interaction with USCA students must be in compliance with the NACE Principles for Professional Conduct. Information you gather here will be for the sole use of recruiting for open positions at your organization and will not be shared outside your organization or used for any other reason. The USCA Office of Career Services reserves the right to edit, delete, or refuse any employer profile, job posting, or login account at any time.
