Education Career Day
The Career Services Office annually sponsors Education Career Day for students interested in a career in the field of Education. This program serves to inform students of the wide array of career options in Education and helps them become more familiar with current information about the individual school districts, such as philosophies and goals. Students can explore the various specialties in Education, such as Early Childhood and Exceptional Children, by speaking one on one with representatives from various school districts. Education Career Day is not only informative, it's practical. Many school districts send representatives for the purpose of holding interviews for soon-to-be graduates, and all representatives accept resumes and are ready to speak extensively about their school system. All USCA students as well as faculty and staff are invited to attend our Education Career Day 2008

Overview

  • Each participating school district is represented by one to two district associates, who are on hand to speak extensively about the goals, philosophies, and protocols of their school system.
Students survey each district's "booth," and are encouraged to distribute resumes and chat with representatives. For this reason it is important that students dress appropriately and have resumes and cover letters on hand.
Several districts generally hold interviews for upcoming graduates, which are prescheduled through the Career Services Office.
  • Career Services also offers handouts as well as staff assistance. We are always available to go over the more important aspects of job hunting, such as resume pointers, interviewing techniques, and tips on where to look and find a job that is right for you.
