MINUTES
JUNE 12,1997
The June 12, 1997 meeting of the Classified
Employees Assembly was called to order at 2:00 p.m. by Chairperson Judy
Clements. The minutes of the last meeting were not available because Genie
Staples is recovering from surgery.
Judy Clements welcomed all present. The purpose of
the meeting was to discuss the revisions made to the Bylaws & Constitution
of the CEA. Since there was not a quorum, the changes were only discussed. A
ballot will be sent to all members at a later date to approve/disapprove the
proposed changes.

Report from
Administration:
Tom Hallman discussed the latest information
available regarding student employees. In the past, the offices received an
allocation for the number of hours that students could work. Next semester, the
departments will receive an actual dollar amount for student employees.
Departments will be able to monitor the student employee budget on the monthly
Level I report. On September 1, the minimum wage will be increased to $5.15.
Therefore, fewer hours of work will be available because of less money.
Corey Feraldi reminded everyone to get their student
"want ads" to him before June 30 so they can be posted in the special
orientation issue of Pacer Times.
A 2.5% pay raise for all state employees has been
approved and will take effect October 1, 1997.
