EMPLOYEES ASSEMBLY
Executive
Officers Meeting
August 13,
1997
executive
officers met today at 9:30 a.m. with all in attendance (Judy Mary Anne
DeLaigle, Bob Wiesner, and Brenda Hill).
Results of the By‑Laws Approval ‑ In counting
the ballots, there was only one dissenting vote. It was declared that the
revised by‑laws passed by unanimous vote.
September CEA Meeting ‑ Judy mentioned that in several
past CEA meetings, a representative of the SC Employees Association has come
and discussed items of interest in the state affecting state employees. She
suggested that this be done again, not to 'push~ employees to join the SCSEA,
but more as a means to keep employees informed of what is happening in the
state.
It was also mentioned that it is
time for the CEA Survey to be administered. Dr. Wanda Hayes has agreed to talk
with the classified employees about this survey and the results, if available
by the next meeting.
USCA Security has received a grant
to hire additional officers. Judy suggested Mike Findley be invited to speak to
the group about the new officers and also some helpful safety tips for
employees.
It would be informative to have
Laurie Keith talk with employees about email and the proper use of list serves.
Along with administrative
announcements, it was suggested that we provide light refreshments and
introduction of new classified employees at this meeting.
Possible dates for the September
meeting are September 24 or 25. Judy will check on room availability as well.
Ginger Noel and Dr. Alexander are ex‑officio members and will be invited
to attend.
Mary Anne mentioned that the
Special Events Committee was working on some ideas for faculty and staff get‑togethers.
The plan is to possibly offer something on a monthly basis. Mary Anne will be
having knee surgery in September and will be out for approximately 6‑8
weeks.
The meeting adjourned at 10:10
a.m.
