CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEES ASSEMBLY

Mr. John Hutchens called the meeting to order.

 

Mr. Andrew Hendrix made a motion to accept the minutes from the last meeting.  Ms. Annette Beeler seconded the motion.  The minutes were accepted. 

 

Dr. Hallman addressed the Assembly.  He discussed:

 

  • There will be a 4% pay increase for all state employees.
  • The Convocation Center will be bid in July with groundbreaking planned for August or September, 2005
  • Renovation of the SAC will be held off until the Convocation Center has been completed.
  • The Capital Campaign is underway with a fundraising goal of $26 million.
  • Enrollment – the fall 2005 freshman class will be about the same as the previous year with 600 new freshmen. Classes are purposefully being held at this level because of limited space and resources.  Student population growth will be addressed again after a new academic building is completed.

 

Ms. Karen Morris recognized the CEA Award Recipients for 2005.  They are Mr. Andrew Hendrix, Admissions; Mr. John Hutchens, RPSEC; Mr. Keith Pierce, Instructional Services; Mr. Barry Ready, Instructional Services.

 

There were no reports from committees to be presented.

 

Ms. Maria Chandler reminded the Assembly about the upcoming summer hours. 

 

Elections for new CEA Officers were held. 

 

There was a motion by Ms. Karen Morris to adjourn; the motion was seconded by Ms. JoAnn Williamson.  The meeting adjourned at 2:25 p.m.
