10.22.10 -----Dr. Leverette was selected as the recipient of the 2010 South Carolina Governor's Professor of the Year award. This award follows Dr. Leverette's selection as the 2010 USCA Scholarly Activity Award recipient and the 2009 recipient of the USCA Excellence in Teaching Award.
10.22.10 -----The National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded Dr. Leverette (PI) and 2 other USCA scientists with the coveted NSF-Major Research Instrumentation (MRI) award totaling $264, 821 for 3 years to purchase a state-of-the-art Raman microscope for the analysis of novel materials and biological samples.

She was selected as the 2010 USCA Outstanding Student and the 2010 Outstanding Chemistry Student. She also won "Best Undergraduate Research Award" for her session at the SC Academy of Science meeting in Charleston.

04.02.08 ----- Dr. Leverette gave a presentation at the 59th Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy on March 5, 2008 in New Orleans, LA. The talk was titled "Differentiation of Uranyl Ion Cast Films Utilizing Surface-Enhanced Vibrational Spectroscopy (SEVS)".
04.02.08 ----- Dr. Leverette's most recent collaborative work using Raman microscopy to probe coral reef disease was published in the March 2008 issue of Spectrochimica Acta. The title of the manuscript is "Determination of Carotenoid as the Purple Pigment in Gorgonia Ventalina Sclerites using Raman Microscopy". Spectrochimica Acta 2008, 69, 1058-1061.
