Internship and Service-Learning
in USC Aiken's Department of Communication
Every communications major at USC Aiken completes a capstone experience that features either an internship supervised by a communication professional or a service-learning experience. Recent capstone students have had opportunities
Service Learning Capstone : Apply the principles of effective communication while providing communications-related community service at organizations like United Way, Helping Hands, or the American Red Cross.
Internships : Gain hands-on experience at newspapers like the Aiken Standard, television and radio stations such as WJBF-TV or Shout Radio 94.7 FM, public relations departments, Bella Magazine, The American Red Cross, The Wild Turkey Federation, Global Spectrum, the Augusta RiverHawks publicity program, or our own USC Aiken Advancement Department.
In addition to hands-on training and experience, internship and service learning students complete academic requirements to analyze and report on what they learned.
