Teaching is my great pleasure and my passion. I love learning so the opportunity to help others learn, gain insights, develop skills and appreciate the benefits of knowledge is always exciting and rewarding. I also enjoy getting to know my students and working one-on-one with them as they pursue their goals. I feel tremendously fortunate to have a job that I enjoy coming to every day! |

My teaching is not confined to the traditional classroom; it exists in student media activities such as Pacer Times as well as in the classes. In classes, I use a variety of methods to teach including lecture, realistic exercises, discussion, guest speakers, and exercises created from the daily news. I have always been active with professional journalists and in communications and journalism associations in an effort to bring current information and world examples to the classroom. |

Bing Han will join the USCA faculty in August 2008. She says that, "I believe a teacher can never truly teach unless he or she is still learning. A good teacher is also a good learner and leader. As a teacher, my responsibility is not only to inform students, but also to inspire their desire to learn and equip them with necessary tools to acquire knowledge on their own." |

Teaching is a rewarding experience! The main goal of my teaching is to inform my students how to become effective communicators. My teaching technique consists of class discussions combined with collaborative group activities. |

Teaching in the Communications Department has been wonderful. I greatly enjoy working with our students to share my knowledge in public relations and graphic design. Watching them learn and grow as communications professionals is a very fulfilling experience! |

Being a teacher means that I assume responsibility to help guide and motivate students to become active participants in learning. I do not see myself as the "fount of knowledge" although I have a good grasp of the subject matter I teach. Rather I believe my primary role is to provide students the environment, structure, knowledge, and motivation they need to be actively involved in discovering, analyzing, and applying information and concepts. Although I have retired from teaching full-time, I will always be a teacher, whether in or out of the classroom. |

| Says a student of Professor Wallace: "His laid back teaching style makes it fun to learn, and his comments and suggestions are always helpful. He gives us the opportunity to do a lot of hands-on work, which I think is the best way to learn." | |
