Lambda Pi Eta Inductees
Lambda Pi Eta, the communication honor society, inducted eight new members in May 2008. They are: Megan Elliott, Ashton M. Ireland, Lil Brionna Jones, Blake Robinson, De'Andrea Youmans, Amy E. Lake, Brittany Leverette, and Whitney L. Price. Chapter President E. C. Hallex presided at the May 7 induction ceremony. Department Chair William Harpine is the chapter advisor.

Communications Major Featured in Regional Magazine -- June 2007
Brittni Everhardt, communications major, was featured in the June 2007 issue of the Aiken Electric Cooperative's magazine, Living in South Carolina. Brittni received the 2004 Trustee Scholarship from Aiken Electric Cooperative. She is also on the USCA tennis team, Lambda Pi Eta and Gamma Beta Phi. Communications majors know about Brittni's work as CommSAC chair.
Outstanding Senior -- May 2007
Melissa Leitzsey was recognized as the outstanding USCA senior. She is a May communications graduate. Among Melissa's many other accomplishments, she edited and produced the Spring 2007 Communications Alumni Newsletter, Common Knowledge, under the supervision of Professor Peggy Elliott. Congratulations, Melissa, as you embark upon what we know will be a remarkable career. Melissa has also received the Ernestine B. Law Award.
Outstanding Senior -- May 2006
Communications major Toni Reyes was chosen as Outstanding Senior for USCA among the May 2006 graduates. Toni gave the student address at the Academic Convocation. She surprised everybody by giving part of the speech in Spanish for the benefit of her relatives watching the webcast. Toni is starting graduate school in Florida.
Aiken Standard Scholar
Christina Wizorek (Bailey) received the 2008 Aiken Standard scholarship for the summer of 2008.
