ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
- College graduate or college seniors planning to pursue a graduate-level program may apply at any time immediately prior to, or during, their course of study.
- Applicants must be legally blind (i.e., have a best corrected visual acuity of 20/200 or less in the better eye, and/or a visual field of less than 20 degrees).
- Scholarships are based on academic and other achievements.
- Candidates are not required to demonstrate financial need
- Applicants must be US citizens, and reside and attend school in any of the following states: CT, DE, FL, GA, MA, MD, ME, NC, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, SC, VA, WV and VT, or Washington, DC.
- Proof of citizenship will be required of all winners.
- Previous winners (in any category) of Lighthouse Scholarships are ineligible, as are current Lighthouse employees and members of their immediate families.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
All scholarship recipients will be notified by the end of June each year. We cannot send out lists of recipients to those who do not receive a scholarship. We only notify recipients, no notification means the student did not receive the scholarship
The following items are required to complete the application process. These items must be submitted in a single envelop in the order listed. All items received separately will be discarded. Any additional items will be discarded
- Must be a citizen of the United States of America
- Must be accepted into a graduate level program in speech language pathology and/or audiology at a college or university in the United States, accredited by ASHA’s Council on Academic Accreditation
- Must have a minimum cumulative 3.2 on a 4.0 scale for all undergraduate and graduate level course work. Include the fall semester2006 in your calculations
- Must submit application and all required materials in single envelope by deadline date
- Application – must be on the original form, typed and signed
- Statement of purpose stating how this scholarship will help you achieve your goals. 1 page maximum
- 1 Letter of recommendation
- College transcript(s). Transcript must be from school, but not in an official sealed envelope. GPA stated on application must be verifiable from transcript. Transcripts must have school name printed on it. Must include undergraduate and graduate level transcripts.
- 1 additional copy of all above items must be included. Copy must blank out all references to the student’s personal information including name, address, phone, e-mail and social security number.

- Open to any Part-time or full-time graduate students who are deaf.
- Graduate studies in a field related to sign language or the deaf community. Must be a graduate student developing a special project on these topics.

- Submit completed application, a short proposal describing the project, three letters of reference, and college transcripts.
