Irving Berlin's

"I Love a Piano"

I LOVE A PIANO is an enchanting new musical journey spanning seven decades of American history as seen through the perceptive and hopeful eyes of Irving Berlin, a man whom Jerome Kern described by saying "Irving Berlin has no place in American music...He is American Music!"

Keep your toes tapping all night long at Irving Berlin's I Love a Piano. Songs like "There's No Business Like Show Business," "Puttin' On The Ritz," "God Bless America," and "White Christmas" are sure to bring a smile to your face as six talented performers celebrate the 70-year career of America's favorite songwriter, told by his honky-tonk piano with one broken key.

 Mozart Festival Opera

               "The Magic Flute"

The Magic Flute (German Die Zauberflöte, K620) recounts the trials endured by a Prince and his trusty companion as they battle to rescue a princess.

Sarastro, the wise priest of Isis and Osiris, has taken Pamina to the temple for the purpose of releasing her from the influence of her mother, the Queen of the Night. The queen induces the young Prince Tamino to go in search of her daughter and free her from the power of Sarastro; Tamino accomplishes his end, but becomes the disciple of Sarastro, whose mildness and wisdom he has learned to admire. The prince and the princess are united

The Magic Flute (German Die Zauberflöte, K. 620) is an opera in two acts composed in 1791 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart to a libretto by Emanuel Schikaneder. The work is in the form of a Singspiel, a popular form that includes both singing and spoken dialogue.

The Dublin

Philharmonic Orchestra

Derek Gleeson, Music Director and Chief Conductor

In 2009, The Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra will undertake its first tour of the United States of America under the auspices of Columbia Artists Management Inc.
Founded in the mid 1800’s, The Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra, together with the Royal Irish Academy of Music, represented the pillars of Irish classical music life at a time when Dublin, after London, was considered the most vibrant and distinctive city in the British Isles.
Under Maestro Gleeson, the orchestra has performed throughout Ireland, including performances for Her Excellency President Mary McAlese at “Aras an Uachtaran” (the Irish “White House”). In addition to presenting standard classical music repertoire, The Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra has also premiered the works of contemporary composers.

The Russian National Ballet

"Swan Lake"

The Russian National Ballet Theatre was founded in 1989 when legendary principal dancer of the Bolshoi Ballet Sergei Radchenko sought to realize his vision of a company which would bring together the highest classical elements of the great Bolshoi and Kirov Ballet companies in an independent new company within the framework of Russian classic ballet.

Leading dancers from across the Russias along with stars of the Bolshoi and Kirov Ballets have forged under Radchenko's direction an exciting new company staging new productions of timeless classics such as...  Giselle, Paquita and Carmen.

The Russian National Ballet Theatre, Directed by Elena Radchenko, is a cut above many of its rivals.

The Male Choir of

          St. Petersburg

The Male Choir of St. Petersburg consists of 25 professional musicians - 12 tenors, 5 baritones, 4 basses and 4 bass-profundi (capable of reaching a bottom G easily) and was founded in January 1993 with the support of Vladimir Spivakov, (Moscow Virtuosi) and Maris Jansons (St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra). Many of Russia's finest composers including Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Rimsky-Korsakov and Mussorgsky, are featured in the choir's repertoire. The choir performs both sacred and secular music (including Bach, Brahms, Shuman and Shubert), as well as folk songs, military marches and anthems. "The St. Petersburg Men's Chorus is a genuine Russian musical treasure. Their weekly sold-out concerts are among the most popular in St. Petersburg. With a varied repertoire that ranges from 19th century liturgical works to selections by Tchaikovsky and other major composers to Russian folk songs, the ensemble's concerts are a true exploration of the soul of Russian music. The first American tour of the St. Petersburg Men's Chorus is a wonderful opportunity for audiences to enjoy a truly memorable musical experience."
