Candidates seeking certification in Secondary Science Education – Chemistry will be certified to teach chemistry at the high school or grades 9-12 level. Each candidate receives a broad general education background and advanced preparation, including a research project, in chemistry. The candidates are required to complete at least 100 hours of clinical experience at the secondary level prior to their internship. The program meets the standards established for Secondary Science Education – Chemistry by the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA).
