Introduction

If you're tired of your folks nagging you to make up your mind about "whatcha gonna be when you grow up", then you need to go on a Quest. Should you choose to accept this Quest, let's go and explore together the various avenues leading to a possible career in Art.


Task

You are a mighty Senior about to graduate from high school and have been accepted to a local college art program. You are to explore the various careers in Art that would interest you for future employment, select an art category from the job classifications list provided below to determine what art career you might be interested in. The findings of your selection will be a Power Point presentation at the end of the unit, with two weeks to complete the assignment.

Commercial art: visual communication, product design, environmental design.

Fine art

Arts business/management

Entertainment Design

 

Process

The following procedures are necessary to complete the task.

1. Select an art category.

2. Select the career of your choice.

3. Use the following guidelines to gather information about your career.

a. Job title

b. Job description before/after research

c. Contacting an artist in their career field and conducting a short interview about themselves and their work

d. Education needed for the job

e. Searching for a projected salary

f. Locate some photo examples of the art career to be later used in the Power Point presentation

g. Insert 3 interesting images (graphics)

Conclusion
