The Education Major’s Club was established for the purpose of:

  1. enhancing professional development as future educators.

  2. serving as a vehicle for disseminating information from the faculty to the Education Majors and vice versa.

  3. providing professional and social interaction between the majors and the faculty.

  4. encouraging on-campus and off-campus community service projects.

At its core, the Education Majors Club promotes and facilitates professionalism. Part of being a professional educator is aggressively seeking external opportunities to both personally and professionally grow. One way in which to grow is to become part of the engaged and informed educational community. Pre-service teachers can do this by attending conferences or select workshops. In this light, the EMC has select funds to support member travel to and participation in such professional development opportunities. Funding criteria and eligibility are as follows:

  1. Recipients must be a member of the EMC;

  2. The EMC cannot fund all requests and may not be able to fully fund all accepted proposals;

  3. Requests are reviewed on a first come, first served basis;

  4. Verification of attendance at conference/workshop is required for reimbursement.
