Gary Senn is an associate professor of science and technology education at the University of South Carolina Aiken. Prior to coming to USCA, he taught middle and high school science for Brevard County, Florida schools. At USCA, Dr. Senn is involved with the master of education program in educational technology and he devotes significant effort as the Director of the Ruth Patrick Science Education Center (RPSEC). In his association with the RPSEC he is also the Director of the Dupont Planetarium, Manager of the Bechtel Telescope housed in the RPSEC Observatory, Director of the South Carolina Center of Excellence in Middle-level Interdisciplinary Strategies for Teaching and Director of the South Carolina Center of Excellence in Educational Technology. Dr. Senn’s main areas of interests are with science education and technology integration in the K-12 classroom. Over the past several years he has concentrated on astronomy education through his involvement with the observatory and planetarium.
