VITA
Gregory MacDougall is an instructor in the School of Education at the University of South Carolina Aiken. In addition to his responsibilities of teaching one course each semester, he is a state science specialist for the Central Savannah River Area - Math/Science Regional Center. In this capacity, he works with six public school districts in mid-western South Carolina to improve student achievement in science.
Prior to coming to USCA he was the High School Science Coordinator for Virginia Beach City Public Schools and a graduate student/instructor/field supervisor at the University of Virginia. His eight-year public school teaching involved teaching middle school and high school, including Life Science and Physical Science, Earth Science, Contemporary Physical Science, Physics, and Advanced Placement Physics.
He enjoys working in education at the national, state, regional, district, school, and classroom levels. He is on the Publication Review Panel for The Science Teacher and is chair of the Professional Development Committee of the South Carolina Science Supervisors Association.
Mr. MacDougall has extensive experience in the field of pre-service and in-service education, with emphasis on science education.
