VITA

 

Dr. Windy Schweder is an Assistant Professor in Special Education at the University of South Carolina Aiken (USCA). Dr. Schweder teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in special education at USCA. She received her Ph.D. in Special Education from the University of South Carolina in August of 2004. Dr. Schweder has a M.Ed. in Mental Retardation from Valdosta State University (1997), and a B.S. in Early Childhood Education from the University of Georgia (1992). Dr. Schweder has experience teaching students with mild to severe disabilities in resource, self contained, and inclusive settings in Georgia and South Carolina. Dr. Schweder is a guest reviewer for the Journal of Special Education Technology. Additionally, she is a conference proposal reviewer for the National Education Computing Consortium. Her research interests include improving distance education in higher education and identifying appropriate software programs for use during the instruction of students with disabilities. Dr. Schweder is a member of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), and the International Consortium for Wearable Computers (ISWC).
