VITA
Tom Smyth holds the rank of Professor at the University of South Carolina Aiken and teaches courses for the USCA School of Education and the USC College of Education. He is the director of the M. Ed. in Educational Technology degree program, a joint program with the Columbia campus of USC. He also coordinates the undergraduate Secondary Education program. Dr. Smyth’s primary interest is in effective teaching and his research interests focus on the effectiveness of online instruction, the integration of technology to improve K-12 learning, and the use of multimedia in instructional design and delivery.
