Blah Blah Blog

Maureen Dowd of the New York Times takes a look at the blogs of 2004 presidential candidates and isn't happy with what she sees. This may be good read to highlight "poor" blogging (with links to the blogs in question, of course).

"poor blogging"="poor writing/thinking"?

I think I figured out the problem I was having publishing without a post. I had trouble again with the "BlogThis" toolbar gig, and I tried to figure out what was going on. If there isn't an actual post, Blogger does not seem to prompt me for my username and password to our campus ftp server. I suddenly realized that I was not being asked for that information. So, I just changed the settings to include my username and password. Now everything seems to be working swimmingly. Cool.

Weblogg-ed Vol.2: Using Weblogs in Education

To be fair, I tracked the above kairosnews discussion from this blog devoted to educational blogging. It seems specifically focused on K-12 but, heck, I'll take any resources I can get.

Assessing Weblogs in College Writing Classes | Kairosnews

Hey! It's been awhile. I've been working diligently on the site with Jeff M. (setting up "comments," fixing the archive, etc.). Otherwise the couple weeks off campus has helped . . . at least some. I also placed the "BlogThis" option on my toolbar. It works rather well. I've been rather busy with other things as the semester approaches. A lot of my work will be on the course blog from here on out, but I plan to use this place to gnash my teeth from time to time.

Anyway, the link above is from KairosNews about using/assessing weblogs in the classroom. I'm particularly interested in how to create some blof assignment sequencing.

I posted this on the course blog almost a month ago. I am now cleaning that blog up and didn't want to forget the information.

I've noticed that Blogger seems to have trouble publishing without a post. That is, if I try to delete a post or two or I make changes to the template and attempt to "re-publish," Blogger seems to get "stuck" looking for something to transfer and will not publish. It's interesting but not overly-annoying.

What if I post from the normal "posting area"?

This doesn't seem to be working.

I decided to test the new "Blog This" feature on a new blog. If it works, I'm a happy man.
