Certificate Program In Writing

 

Do you ever wish you had taken more time in your college years to explore the world of words and ideas? Do you wonder what you might have missed? Would you like to explore creative outlets you've only sampled so far, maybe just sharpen rusty writing skills? If so, then this Certificate Program in Writing may be just what you're looking for.


Entry requirements: interview with and portfolio (5-25 pages of representative writing, to consist of at least two documents) to program director.

N.B.: AEGL 468 (Studies in Writing) is a special topics course that may apply to either Theory or to Practical Applications depending on the nature of the project defined by the student and the instructor.

Rhetoric of Science

An exploration of writing in the sciences, with an overview of current rhetorical theory applicable to the sciences and a contemporary critique of scientific writing.

Literacy and Literature

Explores the concepts of and relationships between literacy and literature in four media cultures: oral, manuscript, print, and electronic.
