Athletic Task Force Meeting

November 9, 2004

Present:

Jo Cunningham, Dru Nix, Jerry Snyder, Neil Berment, Kim Wood Woeber, Bill Claxon, Ahmed Samaha, Bob Botsch, Angie Osbon, Randy Warrick, Jim Kauffman, Braden Hosch, Tim Hall, Connie Pritchard, Randy Duckett

The meeting began at 3:05 with several announcements:

Dr. Hallman, and Dr. Kladivko had scheduling conflicts and could not attend
Red Roberts has indicated that we will not be able to continue to be a member of Task Force
Format for meeting will be:

· Review and questions of the Action Teams from previous meeting…..

· Survey presentation by Dr. Hosch

· 30 minute presentation and discussion of 1^st Action Team Report

· 30 minute presentation and discussion of 2^nd Action Team Report

· Last 30 minutes (Resource members and the Chancellor will be excused and Task Force will finish discussion).

Dr. Hosch presented an executive summary of the recently completed Task Force Survey administered to current students (non-athlete), current student athletes, faculty, staff, community members, Alumnus (not a former athlete), Alumnus (former athlete), Parent of USCA athletes, Pacer Club members.

Randy Duckett and Angie Osbon presented the Community Services Action Team Report, and Jerry Snyder presented the Auxiliary Service Team Report.. After much discussion, preliminary recommendations were suggested to the group for discussion at a later date.

It was noted that due the resignation of Mr. Roberts, that the Community Impact Action Team would be redefined and their report date which was for December 9^th, would be delayed. The Competitiveness Team will report on December 9^th, and a review of all reports and recommendations from our earlier sessions will be made.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:45.

Before our next meeting, please review reports, recommendations, discussion and action items so we can begin to prioritize and reach closure.

Next meeting will be December 9^th – 3-7. Please note the extra hour….
