ATHLETIC TASK FORCE MEETING

September 16, 2004

Attending:  Kim Wood Woeber, Bob Botsch, Bill Claxon, Dru Nix, Jerry Snyder, Billy Morris, Red Roberts, Neal Berment, Jo Cunningham, Deb Kladivko, Jim Kauffman, Tim Hall, Randy Warrick, Tom Hallman, Braden Hosch, Randy Duckett, Angie Osbon, Connie Pritchard

The meeting began at 3 pm as Randy Duckett asked each task force member to introduce themselves.  After the introductions, Randy reviewed the task force charge and the goal of this initial meeting.  

Chancellor Hallman affirmed the charge and its importance for the USCA campus.  He stressed the importance of thoughtful deliberations and the significance of the task force’s efforts. 

Angie Osbon reviewed stakeholders in the process, their involvement, and role in the study and deliberations.

Braden Hosch presented a summary of findings from discussions with students, coaches, athletic staff and athletic administration.  Dr. Hosch also reviewed plans to gather additional information from community and students. 

Randy Duckett outlined the task force’s process, sub committee assignments and charges, and the timeline.  He also described the role of task force members and resource individuals. 

Connie Pritchard described the resources that had been assembled for members that were provided in their notebook.   Dr. Pritchard reviewed plans to contact CEO’s and AD’s at the Peach Belt schools to gather information about competitiveness and expectations. 

Randy Warrick provided an overview of the athletic department and Peach Belt conference to include competition level, diversity, staffing levels, facilities, athletic achievements, community service, fundraising, and budgets. 

Randy Duckett closed the meeting by reminding members to work through his office to gather additional information or schedule meetings.  The meeting was adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
