Action Team Charge 2006-07

The Financial Aid/Scholarship Strategy Action Team is charged in 2006-07 with the following:

    1.    Provide a one-page tabular summary of:
           Scholarships-all scholarships distributed to USC Aiken students, including the types,
           numbers awarded and distributed, average award amounts, and award and university
           retention rates.
           Need-based grants - all recipients of all need-based grants, including the types;
           numbers awarded, unfunded, and distributed; average award amounts; and award
           and university retention rates
           Loans - all recipients of all public and private educational loans, including the types,
           numbers awarded and distributed, average loan amounts, and university retention rates

    2.    Evaluate, discuss with EPT, develop, and implement a USC Aiken institutional award
           philosophy.

    3.    Project funding needs in the various areas to meet our scholarship goals.

            Example: Dollars in budget for X awards, needed dollars by fiscal year
            Example: what proportion of awards should be based a) solely on need, b) solely on
            merit, and c) a combination of merit and need?
