Changing Trend's Scheduled Scan Time

By default, the Trend OfficeScan Client is configured to perform a full system scan each week at a specified day and time. If you would like to change the system scan time, please follow the instructions below.

 

If needed, the Helpdesk staff can also assist you with changing the schedule. If you require assistance, contact the Helpdesk at extension 4357 (on-campus) or 803-641-3502 (off-campus). .

 



Schedule a System Scan

Locate the blue icon show here in your Task Tray. (It will look similar to this, but may have a slightly different yellow symbol)

Right-click the blue Trend icon and choose Office Scan Main as shown here to begin update.






The screen below will be displayed. Choose Options from the menu.


Select Scheduled Scan from the drop-down menu.









The Options dialog window should then open. Change the Day and Time of the Scheduled Scan to suite your needs. However, we recommend leaving all other options on their default settings.


Once you have changed the settings to your liking, click OK on this window and Exit on the main Trend Client window.

NOTE: Be sure to leave your system powered on and logged in during the scheduled scan time, or the scan may not be able to complete. Also, please be aware than while the system scan is running your computer will likely be slow to respond and sluggish. The full scan will likely take an hour to complete.
