The IMPACT Award
This award will be presented to the student group, team, or organization which has completed the most outstanding service project based on the following qualifications:
Nomination letters should include details about the project and address why the project is the most outstanding. Nomination letters should be turned in to the Student Life Office by March 21, 2008. 2008 Winner: Resident Student Association-Halloween Safe Trick or Treat
The Heart of Gold Award
This award will be presented to the student who demonstrates good character, a passion for community service through his or her volunteer efforts in the community, and inspires others by his or her enthusiasm for service. Nomination letters should include details about his or her volunteer involvement in the community. Nomination letters should be turned in to the Student Life Office by March 21, 2008. 2008 Winner: Cheryl Parker
The S.E.R.V.I.C.E. Awards (Students Excelling and Rendering Valuable Involvement with Community Efforts)
The S.E.R.V.I.C.E. Award will be presented to one student and one student organization with the most recorded hours of community service for the 2006-2007 academic year. To be eligible for these awards, students and student organizations must fill out the Community Service Report Forms for each volunteer project completed. Forms are available online and in the Student Life Office and must be submitted by March 21, 2008 to be eligible. 2008 Winners: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc; Tiajuana Smith

President's Student Service Awards
All students who turn in 100 hours or more for the 2006-2007 academic year will receive this special recognition from the White House. The President’s Student Service Awards were created in 1992 to inspire young Americans to participate in voluntary community service. To date, there have been more than 115,000 recipients across the country who have given more than 10 million hours to American communities. Community Service Report Forms are available online and in the Student Life Office and must be submitted by
March 21, 2008 to be eligible. 2008 Winners: KaTrina Jenkins with 100.5 hours, Logan Sharpe with 104 hours, Laurel Smith with 111 hours, Laney Wiggins with 148 hours, and Vermone Coleman with 351 hours of service
