Dance Marathon Coordinator
Lori Beth Long
lelong@usca.edu
"Dance Marathon means
helping others. It means giving back to something that has a special
place in my heart. It is fun and exciting and a lot of work but
everything is all worth it to help those in need."

Family Relations
Misty Kelley
mnkelley@usca.edu
"Having such a personal connection with
the Children's Medical Center makes me want to work even harder to ensure
that Dance Marathon is a success and that the people in our community can
become even more aware of the amazing miracles that occur within the walls
of the Children's Medical Center."

Rules, Regulations, Operations
Logan Sharpe
lmsharpe@usca.edu
"Dance Marathon means a lot to me. Knowing that sick children at MCG
will receive this money makes it worth while. One has to prepare themselves
emotionally and mentally. It surprised me that I felt the way I did
after it. I felt like I really did something good."

Rusty Caldwell
trcaldwell@usca.edu
"I honestly did not understand the
process of Dance Marathon until the slideshow at the very end of the
session. I knew raising money was important but until I saw the
children's faces on the screen, I really had no clue how important the work
that we were doing was. I guess knowing one of the kids whose name was
mentioned in the presentation really hit home and I could only feel
sympathetic towards those kids and their families and then and there is
where I decided I couldn't wait to do this again. I was exhausted on
my way back home, but I knew what we had done was very generous."

Marketing
Jasmine Pinckney
jfpinckney@usca.edu
"Dance Marathon means staying on my feet
for many hours to save and provide cures and medicine for children. I
am making a difference and putting my selfishness outside for 16 hours,
although I know that my legs and feet are going to be in pain later. I
get joy out of who is going to benefit because the children are going to
have a chance to live longer and have a healthier and productive life with
what I am doing."

Special Events
Haley Culp - Chair
haculp@usca.edu
"Dance Marathon
means being selfless. Towards the end of the night (or beginning of
the day, rather), as my feet became swollen and heavy, my eyes barely stayed
open, and my mind was going delirious, I kept on going because the pain I
felt was nothing compared to what these children have been through.
Dance Marathon is also about setting an example. Last of all, this is
for such a good cause and there are so many opportunities to make this an
even greater part of student life at USCA in the coming years."

Kelli Walker - Co-chair
kawalker@usca.edu
"To me the Dance Marathon is a way to
show the school, community, and the children of MCG that we care and want to
help the MCG Children. I want to make them feel special and I believe
this shows it. I was amazed with the Dance Marathon held this past
year."

Programming
Floyd White
fewhite@usca.edu
"Dance Marathon to me, means a time for
different groups and organizations on campus to come together for one cause.
In that process you are meeting several other people who may not even be
part of an organization. In more ways than one it's a great
opportunity to show school spirit and acknowledge folks you would not see on
a regular basis."

Historian
Patrice Wright
spwright@usca.edu
"Dance Marathon means
much more to me now since I participated. It means doing all we can to
save at least one child from illness and celebrating the children who have
gotten better or on the way to recovery."

Morale
Chantay Ravenell
caravenell@usca.edu
"Dance Marathon means allowing someone
the same opportunity to life as I was given."

Advisor
Angel Lee
angell@usca.edu
"Dance Marathon is about putting yourself aside for a few hours to make a
difference in someone else's life. Not only are we making a difference
in the lives of the children at the Children's Medical Center at MCG, but we
have a blast while doing it. The feeling you get at the end of the 16
hours when you realize how much of a difference you've made in such a short
amount of time is incomparable to anything else you'll ever feel."
