USC Aiken to Host Community Open House

July 23, 2007

The Office of Conferences and Continuing Education will sponsor a Community Open House on Tuesday, Aug. 14. The event will highlight several departments on campus and will give participants an opportunity to receive information about and become involved in University activities and programs.

From 9 a.m. to noon, representatives from the Gregg-Graniteville Library, Pacer Athletics, the Office of Continuing Education, the Ruth Patrick Science Education Center and DuPont Planetarium, the Academy for Lifelong Learning, the Wellness Center, SeniorNet, and the Etherredge Center will host information booths in Room 122 of the Business and Education Building. An additional afternoon session will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Members of the community are urged to drop by at any time during these hours. The University will also offer a campus tour at 11 a.m.

“We are very excited about the upcoming Community Open House at USCA,” said Mary Anne Cavanaugh, director of Conferences and Continuing Education. “Our campus has so much to offer the community, and this event gives people an opportunity to visit with representatives of several of our departments and learn more about USCA. There is a wide variety of possibilities—from athletic events to interesting classes for senior citizens to Kids in College camps. It really is a nice event, and we would like to encourage everyone to take a few minutes to come see us.”

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact Cavanaugh at (803) 641-3587 or maryanc@usca.edu.
