USC Aiken's Tau Kappa Epsilon Holds Fundraiser to "Flush Out" Alzheimer's

April 13, 2007

The University of South Carolina Aiken’s Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) Colony will hold its “2007 Toilet Sit for Alzheimer’s” from noon on Monday, April 16 through noon on Wednesday, April 18.

Two members of TKE Colony will sit on toilets located in the USC Aiken Quad in one hour shifts for 48 consecutive hours. TKE Colony will seek donations for the Alzheimer's Association, which will then be presented to the Ronald and Nancy Reagan Research Institute.

The Alzheimer’s Association is a national network of chapters committed to finding a cure and assisting those affected by the disease. The Fraternity has partnered with the Ronald and Nancy Reagan Research Institute, which was established in 1995, one year after Reagan, a distinguished member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, announced to the world that he suffered from the disease. TKE Colony has set a goal of $1000 to contribute to the national goal of $240,000 for the Ronald and Nancy Reagan Research Institute.
