At its annual dinner on March 31, USC Aiken’s Epsilon Upsilon chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society, inducted 14 new members.
New student members include Alexander Bush, Jennifer Stone, Ward Berry, Kiri Dunlap, Holly Kwiatkowski, Nichole Bennett, Carissa Smith, Gary Asbill, Julie Long, Leslie Walters, Ashley Booth, and Richelle Battles. New faculty members include Dr. Katie Kalpin and Dr. Doug Higbee.
The keynote speaker for the evening was Dr. Carla Coleman, who talked about the meaning of literature in her life.
Established in 1924, Sigma Tau Delta seeks “to promote the mastery of written expression, to encourage worthwhile reading, and to foster a spirit of good fellowship among students of the English language and its literatures.”
This year’s officers are Jacqueline Ballard, President, and Rachael Bond, Vice President. Dr. Tom Mack is the chapter sponsor.
