USCA Chancellor Tom Hallman Named Aiken’s “Man of The Year”
Hallman Honored by the Greater Aiken Chamber of Commerce

Aiken , SC – The Greater Aiken Chamber of Commerce recognized Dr. Tom Hallman, chancellor of USC Aiken as “Man of the Year” on January 25.
Hallman was recognized at the Chamber’s 90 th annual awards dinner held at the USCA Convocation Center. Six awards were presented at the dinner including: Ambassador of the Year, Youth of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Large Business of the Year, Woman of the Year, and Man of the Year. Holding true to tradition, the award recipients were not notified in advance.
During Hallman’s accepting remarks, he was quick to acknowledge others. “The credit goes to the team at USC Aiken. This is really their recognition,” Hallman said. “The University, we’ve always said, is not in the community, but of the community.”
Vice Chancellor of University Advancement, Dr. Deidre Martin, was one of several who nominated Hallman for the honor. In her nomination letter, Martin wrote, “Dr. Hallman clearly has shown leadership as he has built an even stronger institution of higher learning during his time as Chancellor. He is held in great respect and esteem by the faculty, staff, and students of our campus.”
