Sunrise Rotary Honors USCA Communication Major as Student of the Month

Sunrise Rotary selected University of South Carolina Aiken student David Belfield as Student of the Month for January.

"David is a standout young man. He is bright and insightful. He is hardworking, motivated and goal-oriented. At the same time, he is personable, kind and quick to smile," said Dr. Charmaine Wilson, chair of the USC Aiken Communication Department.

"David truly is a terrific young gentleman."

Belfield is a junior communication major with a sociology cognate who hopes to become a college basketball coach.  He currently serves as the director of basketball operations for the USC Aiken men’s basketball team.  In addition, Belfield has been selected to the Peach Belt All-Academic Team, the Dean’s List and the President’s List.  He is also a member of the City of Aiken-USC Aiken Advisory Board, a team of students and elected, business and civic leaders who are working together to strengthen ties between the university and the city.
