USC Plane: Upcoming Research Flights

The USC Plane will be making research flights on the following dates:

February 7-8, 2018

February 27, 2018

March 6-7, 2018

March 15, 2018

Any faculty or research staff wishing to visit funding agencies and to meet with program staff are invited to make use of these flights free of charge.  All seats must be reserved with a Flight Request form, found on the USC Flight Operations web site  (

Details are as follows

The flight will depart Owens Field at 7:30 am, projected to arrive at APP Jet Services facility in Manassas at approximately 8:50am.  Passengers need to be at Eagle Aviation lobby (Owens Field terminal) twenty minutes before the flight for the flight safety brief.  Hertz rental cars for ground transportation into Wash DC area can be reserved through APP by calling 703-392-5387.  If they ask for the USC plane tail # it is "N351GC".

All passengers will meet back at the lobby of the Manassas  APP Jet Services facility for return flights. Departure time from Manassas will be at approximately 4:30 pm the day of the return trip to arrive back into Owens Field/Columbia approximately 6 pm.

Overnight accommodations and ground transportation in the DC area are the responsibility of each passenger. Please have a TA on file with your department for these flights.

Allow 60 - 75 minutes or so to travel from the Manassas Airport into DC.

Please note that effective immediately, the FAA is prohibiting persons from offering for air transportation or transporting via air any Samsung Galaxy Note 7 device on their person, in carry-on baggage, in checked baggage, or as cargo. If you have a Samsung Galaxy Note 7, you cannot carry it onto the University aircraft.
