More About Me
I have been a member of the nursing faculty at
USCA since 1987. I received my BSN from Emory University, and my MSN and Ph.D
from the Medical College of Georgia.I began teaching in the ADN program,
but now teach in the BSN Completion program. I generally teach ABSN
308, Professional Nursing, ABSN 413, Nursing Research, and ABSN 414, Nursing
Ethics. I have also taught ABSN 415,
Gerontological Nursing. My areas of research interest include psychosocial
aspects of aging, professional self-esteem, memory loss in the elderly, and
web-based learning. I have enjoyed presenting my research nationally
and internationally. Over the past seven or eight years I have traveled to
Madrid, Athens, Sydney, St. Thomas, Amsterdam, St. Petersburg, Maui and Toronto
to present research at professional conferences. I am the mother of
three adult children, and the proud grandmother of Rachel and Hank Miles,
ages eleven and seven who are currently enjoying three years in Germany.
