More About Me

I have been a member of the nursing faculty at USCA since 1987. I received my BSN from Emory University, and my MSN and Ph.D from the Medical College of Georgia.I began teaching in the ADN program, but now teach in the BSN Completion program.  I generally teach ABSN 308, Professional Nursing, ABSN 413, Nursing Research, and ABSN 414, Nursing Ethics. I have also taught ABSN 415, Gerontological Nursing. My areas of research interest include psychosocial aspects of aging, professional self-esteem, memory loss in the elderly, and web-based learning.  I have enjoyed presenting my research nationally and internationally. Over the past seven or eight years I have traveled to Madrid, Athens, Sydney, St. Thomas, Amsterdam, St. Petersburg, Maui and Toronto to present research at professional conferences.  I am the mother of three adult children, and the proud grandmother of Rachel and Hank Miles, ages eleven and seven who are currently enjoying three years in Germany.
