Health & Safety Training

Vehicle Training

The Department of Operations, Safety Office (3538), offers individual Fleet User Sessions (FUSS) designed for your needs whether it be golf cart, van, bus, truck or automobile qualification. You will be provided with all the information you will need including detailed information regarding the roadside assistance program (AutoClub), use of the Wright Express (WEX) Card, and defensive driving techniques. FUSS will outline procedures you need to follow should you experience an accident, mechanical breakdown, or other roadside emergency while operating a University vehicle.

Set up an appointment for individual training with Len Engel lene@usca.edu  If you have a SC driver’s license he will go online to obtain your 3 year driving record. After completion of the above training, you will take the bus and/or van out for a familiarity drive. Please note a van driver must be at least 21 and a bus driver at least 18 years of age. Altogether the training and qualification process takes 45 minutes for vans/buses, 30 minutes for auto and truck.
