Ken's Blog

Well people its been a while since I last wrote in my journal but, I believe it was well worth the wait. Im happy to announce that Ive passed all of my test in the Nursing School so far (a failling grade is anything below an 80), and I have started my clinicals and everything is rolling smoothly. Im learning alot, and the faculty is always there to offer any assistance that they can, and the experience itself is just breath taking, because I am actually beginning to map out my future. On another I have some good news for all of the USCA students and that is Fall Break is this week and its time for a much needed break from all of this work, so Im going back home on Thursday so that I can see my family and friends, because its been a while since Ive been home. Also the SC State Fair is this week so Im really excited that, because the only reason I go sometimes is for the foods like the elephant ears, polish dogs, jumbo corn dogs, cotton candy, candy apples, etc...(man Im hungry now), but like I said I can't wait to go. Lastly I just want to let everyone know that the Official Countdown until my birthday (October 20th) begins in 5...4...3...2...1..NOW, so Im going to declare it a national holiday (Just Joking). But until next time, make sure ya'll be safe and stay out of trouble....

As I told yall in my last blog yours truly is celebrating his 20th birthday on Saturday October 20th, its kinda scary but at the same time I feel as though I am becoming responsible for my own actions, and as the day gets closer I start to realize that Im not that immature teenager anymore that looks at life from a selfish perspective, but yet I am starting to see the bigger picture and how I fit into the scheme of things. At times it can be overwhelming to think that Im no longer a teenager, and that I am making that transition to adulthood, but yet I find it gratifying to know that I have been equipped with the proper tools to succeed in life. I first of all give thanks to God for keeping me this far, secondly to my family for giving me a base of support and keeping me motivated to achieve all of my goals, and I also thank my friends for keeping me out of trouble, and giving me a family away from home. Unfortunately I will still be in Ai-Ken for my birthday celebration, but my older brother is coming down to chill me with and show me good time on my birthday, but that all i have for now I'll write back next time to let you about the festivities until yall be safe and stay out trouble.....
