Katie Gerth
" I live in Pacer Downs and I love it. I love how I can go back to my room during the day if I have a break between classes. I also feel that I have met more people by living on campus. I do not think that I would have had a good college experience if I would not have lived on-campus."

- Katie Gerth , Early Childhood Education major

Students in Class
Did You Know?
USC Aiken has some of the best professional schools in South Carolina. All three - business, nursing, and education - have received the highest level of accreditation possible. This means more opportunities for you to learn from the best and brightest the University has to offer.

Marcus Allen
"After coming to USC Aiken, I was really able to get involved in alot of great community service projects tha benefit both the local community and beyond."

- Marcus Allen, Business Marketing major

Erin Smith
"In each of our housing facilities, you'll find RAs like me, as well as professional staff members, who have undergone special training to help students deal with some of the common issues that may arise when living away from home for the first time."

- Erin Smith, Elementary Education major

Shelby Williams
"The best part of being a nursing major and actually being in the nursing program is the reputation USC Aiken nursing students carry. Many students and professors know that to get into the program here is competitive, and to be in the program is an accomplishment."

- Shelby Williams, Nursing major

TJ Langford
"During the course of my freshman and sophomore years, I was a resident in the Pacer Downs. When I first met my roommate my freshman year, we became the best of friends from the get-go. We found out that we were so much alike in many ways. We connected like brothers, and we are still roommates today during our junior year. "

- Anthony (T.J.) Langford, Communications major

Paige Jeffcoat
"Being a communication major at USC Aiken has definitely prepared me for effective communicating in a real world setting. I've even been able to communicate in a different language for guests at Disney, thanks to the French courses I’ve taken at USC Aiken. I constantly find myself using concepts that I’ve learned in the classroom; some of which I wouldn’t have been able to use until later after college. "

- Paige Jeffcoat, Communications major
Intern for The Walt Disney Company

Shantivia Boneparte
"USC Aiken was my very first choice because it wasn't too far from home, but I still got to leave home and experience something new. There were other colleges that I looked at, such as Emory, Winthrop, and USC Columbia, but I'm glad that I chose USCA. "

- Shantivia Boneparte, Exercise & Sports Science major

Lehe Drawdy
"I enjoy the small campus environment. My professors know me and speak to me even when I’m not in class. I enjoy walking around the quad and seeing people I know, and I am able to meet new people everyday."

- Lehe Drawdy, Political Science major

Houston Taylor
"I chose USC Aiken because you have more time one-on-one time with your professors, and the beauty and cleanliness of the campus and its surroundings are great. Also, I received a scholarship to play baseball."

- Houston Taylor, Secondary Education (History) major

Brittany Leverette
"Our campus is just the right size to get involved. You can get connected through Greek life, community service, sports, theatre, music, academic clubs, or student government - just to name a few. At USC Aiken, you'll develop relationships with other students, making our campus your perfect home away from home."

- Brittany Leverette, Communications major

Annie Zhao
"At USC Aiken, everything we do is with you in mind. Come to our campus, and you'll witness our professors, our staff, our students - the entire USC Aiken community - working together toward one common goal: your success. Our small class sizes offer a setting for personal attention from faculty - so you're an individual, not a number."

- Annie Zhao, Business major

Jon Boyles
"For many of our students, getting involved in community service is an essential piece of their college mosaic. Making a difference in the lives of others is what USC Aiken is all about."

- Jon Boyles, Business major

Ken Kennedy
"We want to provide you with the tools for a successful future. From the moment you set foot on our campus, you'll discover a multitude of programs to mold you into a more engaged citizen and prepare you for success. Through opportunities like the First Year Experience or organizations like Peer Educators, you'll learn what it takes to be a more well rounded individual."

- Ken Kennedy, Nursing major

  • Busy, Busy, Busy
  • Man. I never thought it could get so busy around here. This last end of the semester is really shaping up to be pretty tough. I have got so much going on at one time. It's CRAZY! But, i guess that is the life of a college student. Atleast we only have like one more full week of classes. Which is nice. Baseball is still going pretty good. I just sucks that I cant play becuase of my shoulder and everything, but god willing, I will back on the old hill before long. Check back for end of the year wrap ups soon!!!

  • Spring is Here
  • Man it is nice to finally have some warm weather. I just wish this wasn't also the time when every teacher makes everything due at the same time. Oh well! Atleast we will be done in like 2 weeks. It so different from high school when you dont get out till like june, whereas here we are done by the end of april/begginning of May. Baseball has been great. We are doing well so far but really need to pick it up to clinch the peach belt title. This year has been really good so far and the adjustment from high school has been pretty easy. USCA is a great place to do that. It has alot of things to get involved in and the classroom size is small enough where the proffessors know you by name. Well thats all for now so check back for updates.

  • Spring is Here!
  • Man! Its great to have some warm weather finally roll around. Spring break is here and its time to get a break from all the school work. This semester has been going really well and the professors have been great so far. I cant believe that once we are back from spring break, we have only a month and a half before school is out for the entire summer, which is great considering how late I used to get out for summer in high school. Baseball has been going really well. I am recovering from my shoulder surgery pretty well, and the team is playing great. Its gunna be tough to alieviate the pain of coming back from spring break but it will be nice to keep the near future of beaches and babes in visible reality as summer begins to infringe. Well, check back for some updates. PEACE Phillip

  • Moving Along
  • Well, We've really started getting into the semster now and the tests are coming fast. I already have had two and I've got another coming up. They haven't been too bad so far but I really gotta stay on top of it. Baseball has been going well, we are 4-2 so far. It really sucks having to sit this year out but rehab for my shoulder is going well and hopefully I ll be back in a few months. Other than all the tests the school semester has been going pretty well, but check back for updates cause theres always something going on.

  • Back To School.
  • Man! Back to school! What tough thing to swallow. It was real nice to have some relaxation time and time with family. We are getting settled into our classes and the tests and papers are just starting. Sorry I haven't blogged i a while its been real hectic since I have been back. I had to have shoulder surgery over the break so its been pretty tough since that. It really sucks because I was really looking forward to contributing to the team this year, but hopefully I'll make a full recovery. Well, its about time for class, so I gotta run. Send some comments to let me know how everyone is doing. Thanks Phillip

  • Christmas Break!
  • Hey guys! I'm real excited because friday is my last exam and then I'm home free for the break. The only thing is that I have to have shoulder surgery over the break so that will put a little hitch in it, but other than that it will be nice to get away from school for a while. The first freshman semester went pretty well and my grades are looking good. I have to keep it up though because I need to keep the life scholarship so I can take some pressure off of me and my parents. Well, I'm lookin foward to the break so you guys have a great christmas and I'll update a couple times over the break. Merry Christmas.

  • Winding down
  • Well Christmas is finally almost here and I can't wait. Its been as pretty tough semester as a first year freshman abut the best thing about it is its over. I have pretty good grades I guess, especially considering all I have to do with baseball during the week and everything. I've already signed up for the classes next semester and the schedule looks pretty good, NO FRIDAY CLASSES! That's always nice. So, check back for a few updates before the break.

  • I can smell the turkey
  • Man I am ready for Thanksgiving. So, I finally found one bad thing about college. Professors seem to pile everything on right at the end of the semester when you don't feel like doing anything. Baseball has really slacked off alot, but we are still working hard on conditioning and other small fundamental stuff. I have really enjoyed this first semester in college and I'm looking foward to many more to come. Check back for the relief of the end of the week update.

  • Waitin' for Christmas
  • Man I'm ready for Christmas. It may be a little early to hope for snow, but a break is greatly needed. Its getting pretty stressful as the semester winds down. Baseball is still going real well. We have some conditioning and stuff left before we get off for break. My grades are good so far, but I really need to put forth a little extra effort as the end of the semester gets closer. The good thing about college is that Christmas break is so much longer than it was in high school. So, overall everything is going pretty well so check back in for an update soon.

  • tough to balance
  • Hey guys! It's been awhile since i've written so sorry that I haven't updated in a while. Anyways, school and baseball is getting alot harder to balance. I have alot more tests closer together, and the practices have been pretty intense. So far I've done pretty well with time management, but the semester still isn't over, so I can't slack now. The good thing is that the semester really is flying by, and before we know it Christmas break will be here. Baseball is going well and I'm really enjoying all the guys. The fall season is coming to an end, and then it will be time to get down to business once next semester gets here. Well, I;ve got one class today so I'm gunna knock that out and start the weekend. Check back for more updates. Peace I'm outtie.
