Whassup everybody?!!! Hopefully everyone has been doing pretty well since the last time I wrote. I know i have. This is turning out to be one of the best school years ever!!!
As usual alot has happen since the last time I wrote. Besides my regular week of classes and work, last saturday and sunday, I spent the weekend in Savannah, GA for the annual SGA retreat. It was great. We learned everything we needed to learn on how to conduct meetings, work together, and really make this year a prosperous year for student government. We are so excited about all of the things we have planned, and we are working extremely hard on making sure that our peers' voices are heard. Our upcoming Soccer Tailgating event is on Oct. 4th. So come our and support are ladies and men's soccer teams and get a chance to mix, mingle and bring up some issues that you want resolved on campus.

Also, on this past tuesday, I recieved my very first mentor through the Compass Leadership Program. Compass is an on campus organization targeted at minority students which focuses on increasing leadership skills on campus and after college. It is a wonderful program. In the little amount of time that we had thus far, I've been able to find out so much about myself, and i've learned how to express those feelings and present myself to others with great confidence. My mentor is so great, and I think that she will really help me this semester in understanding where I am now and what it takes to get where i want to be. We are also going to be doing some job shadowing which is always good for any college student. Stacie Williams, director of Multicultural Affairs is the advisor for the Compass Leadership program.
All- in- all, this week has been great and I know next week will be even better!
