21 and loving it!

Go me, Its my birthday! Ok, I'm finally 21. So that makes me legal and I can believe that I'm grown now... right? :-) Naw, I know I'm still growing, but I can believe I'm grown. I know its been awhile since I last wrote, but so much has been going on since then. So where do I start?......

Ok, after spring bling week the professors hit kinda hard with test and other things that were do. But I was ready for them. I'd studied alot the weekend before and I did pretty good on my tests and assignments I'm maintaing the average I want in all my classes, so I'm satisfied.
That week we also had a comedian come to the school, sponsored by PUB, who had performed on BET before. He was really funny! We also had a softball tailgate that was really fun. It was sponsored by SGA. Then there was Easter weekend and of course you have to go home for Easter weekend for the food, church, and Easter clothing, and I also celebrated my bday with my family while I was home. I had a good time and I got money, a new phone, and jewelry.

After Easter weekend, I came back to school and got ready for one of the best weeks of my life. Tuesday I turned 21 and although I was getting my hair done at the time, my friends brought over cake and wine and sung to me for my bday. I celebrated the entire week and ended the celebration in Atlanta on the AASA retreat this pass weekend. It was nice. We visited the MLK memorial center in downtown Atlanta and we also went to the New Aquarium there. And no trip would be complete without shopping! We kinda got baited into believing we would be close to some areas where we could go out and party some nights but we stayed at a hotel out in Smyrna, GA so we had to make the best of what we had.

Overall, it was a WONDERFUL 21st and I'm STILL enjoying it! I love being 21 and I'm so blessed to have lived to see another year. Now its time to buckle down as we only have 1 more week of classes after this week and then there's finals. But I'm gonna be ready for them....I HOPE!

P.S. Look out for the opening of our Brand New Convocation center next week! Its gonna be GRRRREAT! We have booked performances from Kenny Rogers, Hinder and Papa Roach, Aiken Rhythm and Blues Festival, and so much more!

An End is Near!

Finally, I can see an end to a long but pretty great school year. We only have four more days of classes and then exams began. I've already began studying for those. As the end of the semester draws near, we're preparing for the opening of our new convocation center. Be sure to check out the website for we've added shows such as Omarion and Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus. Also, we have tons of award programs going on, and we're looking forward to the renovations of the Student Activities Center and the new housing facility being built. We are also raising money to go towards the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund in memory and honor of the students that lost their lives in the tragic Virginia Tech event that occured. We, the institutions of higher educations, were all affected in this event and send out our love and support to our fellow institution.
If I look back on this school year, I can say that its probably been my best so far. I've worked really hard to keep my grades up, be a dedicated student worker, and be involved and devoted to helping as much as possible. And believe me, It has definitely paid off. I hope that you guys got a good idea of what things are like for a student at USCA. I really love being apart of my USCA family and the things that I've learned here will definitely have a lasting impression on my life. I look forward to my senior year here because I know it will be a rewarding experience as well. So my final thought to you all is a quote by Maya Angelou which states "I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands; you need to be able to throw something back."

This is Shantivia Boneparte..signing out!
