I have to check my schedule!

Why is it that once you get situated and it seems like your getting organized that everything starts to turn around on you? Lately, I've been having to check my schedule for everything and anyone, including myself, just to see if I have the time. Seriously, just the other day, I had to schedule a nap! Who does that?! So what's the problem?...
...Well I think I've been trying to do everyone's job, plus mine. I've been spreading myself too thin. My Solution...Well I know school comes first, so I've planned time to study each day on my schedule. The other things, like meetings and work, have been planned around it. But, most importantly, I've left room for some "me time". A girl just can't get by without it...No one can for that matter. Because what it all boils down to is what's best for you!
On a lighter note, everything is going pretty well with classes. One of my professors teaches 3 out of the 5 courses I'm taking, and he cancelled two of those today( the 8am and 10am) So I only had 1 class today and that class was at 12:00. How great is that?! FYI-This will never happen again! I'm looking forward to the Soulja Boy Block Party this friday sponsored by my organization, RSA, and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc.. Tonight, If I get done with physics in time, I'm thinking about attending the improv show hosted by pub. I'll let you know how it turns out if I decide to go. Check back later for photos of my labor day weekend!

Getting Down to Work...Finally!

It's a beautiful day outside but I can't really enjoy it because I have got to study. The plan was to study before today but alot has happened to alter those plans. Let me catch you up.
I just started working as a waitress at Papa Russ' BBQ. The Restaurant moved to the alley (FYI-a street in downtown aiken with very nice dining and where locals hang out) this week and opened yesterday. I've been training for that all week and our first night went fairly well to say we didn't advertise as much. Friday night, RSA and Zeta Phi Beta's Block Party was better than I expected. We had a good turn out, considering we changed the location 3 times, and the D.J. was really good too! It ended up in the lobby of Pacer Commons (FYI-one of our residents halls-great location for a party!) But setting up for it all week with publicity tables, reservations for locations, and whatnots took up a lot of time...but someone has to do it. After working all day yesterday, I decided to just go to sleep and study today when I was well rested and could concentrate. WOA(word of advice)-Always try to be focused on only your work when studying and not trying to do anything else.
So that's how I ended up stuck inside on the first day that it hasn't rained in who knows how long. But it was well worth it! Check back later this week for more on what's going on!

Oh yeah... Thanks to everyone for coming out the Block Party and making it a success. Also, a big congratulations to the winners of the Soulja Boy Contest! Stay tuned in to your USCA email account for the next RSA event!

Speeding through the Semester

The semester is going by really fast. October is right around the corner. I've had two exams already, but the tough ones are coming up this week. My physics exam is on tuesday and the exercise testing exam is on wednesday. Sometimes I wish my professors would get together and plan NOT to have test around the same time. Alot of the time, it seems to be just the opposite. But that's college and I've been studying regularly, so I not too worried. As a matter of fact, today was a study day for me. I wanted to go home and spend time with my family and visit my home church but I know that if I do, I won't study! The choices we have to make...It sucks sometimes, but it's worth it in the end. Hopefully I'll get to see them on fall break which is coming up really soon...THANK GOD!
I'll keep you posted on how everything goes with classes and of the upcoming events on campus this week. Check back with me later!
