Information for Students Registering for Spring 2006
Welcome to the class! This is the third upper level political science class that we have offered completely over the Web. In addition, we offer APLS 201, American National Government, over the Web every semester. APLS 101 has also been offered as an Internet class. Several upper level classes have also been offered in the summer – check the schedule for summer 2007!
Please check the web site regularly beginning in late December for more
information. We will officially start our class on the first day of spring
classes at USCA. This is the day after the Martin Luther King holiday –
we start late this year – Tuesday, January 16, 2007. All students must
use their USCA email addresses for this class. The only exceptions are some
students taking this course from a distance, who are not regular USCA students.
If you fall into this category, contact me immediately.
If you do not have a USCA email address or have trouble accessing any
portion of the website from on or off campus, please contact USCA Computer
Services for assistance. They can be reached at 803-641-4357.
The following applies to ALL students. To get ready for the class, I need some information from you. Click on my e-mail address below and answer the following questions in the space provided for your message. You can copy and paste them to your email and then type in the answers -- which is what you will be doing on the assignments, anyhow. Type in "student info" in the subject area. When you are done, just click on the "send" button.
1. Your USCA e-mail address --I need that to put you on a discussion list and to check things out before the semester gets underway. Please be sure to let me know your name when you do this - I can't always tell from your email address!
2. How did you learn about this course?
3. Why did you sign up for a class on the Web?
4. Are you taking the course as a required course for your major, as an elective, or as a course to fill a group requirement?
5. What is your telephone number and your mailing address? I will need this for emergencies and to send you materials that cannot be sent over the Web.
Thanks. You will be getting some e-mail before the semester begins so check your email in January!
