Carol Botsch's APLS 472 class is supported by this Web page. Here you can find your syllabus and daily assignments, which are linked to the course "Schedule and Assignments" below.  If you have any questions you can email me at carolb@usca.edu or call me at 803-648-6851 ext. 3227.

·         Schedule and Assignments – be ready to start the first day, as scheduled. This is a virtual class, so we will not hold any face to face meetings. But to get you started, please email your class at apls472web@listserv.sc.edu with the following information on Monday, July 7! I’d like you to become more familiar with what public personnel management is all about. Personnel management today is often referred to as Human Resources Management – I guess someone thinks we are just “human resources,” not people (what does that tell you?)! So let’s begin by taking a look at a couple of websites. We’ll start with the website for the City of Aiken’s Human Resources Management, and then look at the website for USC Aiken’s Human Resources Management. Scroll around these sites, and click on some links. See what they are all about. If you have your text (I did not assign you anything from the text for today as the bookstore did not buy enough books and had to put in a rush order – please check and see if they came in yet if you don’t have your book), you can look through it to see what the author discusses in each chapter. Then, for today, I want you to email everyone via the class list (you must use your USCA email address) and introduce yourself, stating your name, major, class in school, and one fun thing you have done or plan to do this summer. Next, tell us one thing you found on one of these web sites or in your text that you found particularly interesting and that you would like to know more about, and why. Send your email to apls472web@listserv.sc.edu by midnight Monday, July 7.
