History Club

History Club has been busy for the last year! We have gone on several field trips: Last spring we went to the Palmetto Connections Symposium, hosted in Beaufort SC, and many of our members gave papers.  We also went to go hear Cornel West speak at Benedict College in Columbia SC.  This spring we went to the state archives in Columbia SC where students got a tour of the archives and time to do a little research. Finally this March we went to the Native American Studies Center in Lancaster, SC to hear a talk and tour the facilities.

Every year in November we hold an annual Trivia Night,  a fun night where students compete to answer questions provided by our very own History and Political Science Professors.  All had a good time.  As usual we also hosted our film series showing films such as Spartacus, The Wind that Shakes the Barley, Yankee Doodle Dandy, Glory and Seven Samurai!  Last but not least we had a graduation party in December 2015 for our distinguished graduates.
